Well if you don’t know now, we have moved to a bigger 1000 capacity venue in the city. We aim to get in some great touring bands. Please if you don’t think you would be able to do justice in getting a large crowd, don’t try for gigs. We closed the old venue on Duke St due to a fact not enough Indie fans or extreme metal fans came out and it wasn't worth it to do a regular club night for that. People were good to talk the talk but they wouldn't walk it and spend their money so that is the end of an era.
Now we have the new chapter with the biggest ever rock club in the city and it is going very well indeed. The Gasworks is on Great Horton Road and we are based behind the Alhambra theatre.
After being open since the start of March 2006, the Gasworks has been going from strength to strength. We have been inundated with bands wanting to play and we just can’t get everyone on, but we try if we like what we hear about them. We try to make your stay at the club as safe as possible and the fact that the Gasworks has been getting busier we have had to increase our security as is required by law for the numbers coming through the door. With the venue only open for 3 days a week for music and Tuesdays will be for fully licenced MMA cage fighting on Tuesdays at the moment We are hoping to get the touring bands on the other days that we are closed. With Bradford needing an outlet for rock music then as most know it has happened. We never thought the Gasworks would make such an impact on other longer established rock clubs.
